To-wen is a bilingual journalist and author. Her first middle grade novel, The Donut Rescue Team, was a third prize winner of 2003 Abrams’s Amplify Award.  Before writing for children, she worked as an international correspondent, covering parenting, education, and family life style from America for readers in Taiwan, where she's originally from.
